  • Time Management Tool: This activity helps students (and others) make a plan to manage their time. It can also be found in the Handbook for Incoming Students, given to all incoming students during New Student Orientation.

  • Trouble Concentrating in Class? This video from the First Year College can help! Learn strategies for concentrating while in class or studying, and learn what you can control in your studies.
  • Do You Procrastinate? Check out this video from the NC State Counseling Center! Procrastination is a common problem for college students that detrimentally impacts their academic success. The following video will educate you on what procrastination is, what it looks like, why people do it, and how it can be minimized. As a distance learner, you must be more disciplined since you are on your own. Make sure procrastination does not get in your way!
  • Need Help Studying? Check out this video from the NC State Counseling Center! Developing strong study skills early on in your college career is essential to performing well as a student...but don't worry, it's never too late. This video will focus on the elements of time management that are critical to study skills. Also, it will discuss effective approaches to studying that address note taking, review sessions and healthy study habits.
  • Prepare for your Exams! The NC State Counseling Center has a great resource for you! Taking test and final exams can be greatly enhanced by having a greater understanding of study skills and test structure. This video will focus on basic concepts of exam preparation including primary areas or focus, how to approach different questions and dealing with test anxiety.

  • Do I need to Take the Chemistry Placement Exam: Students who need to take Chemistry 101 are required to take a Chemistry Placement Exam. Visit this website to determine if your college or major requires the CPE.
  • NC State Billing Guide: This page walks you through the various steps required to pay your NC State bill (the updated Billing Guide will be available in Spring 2012).
